René Magritte’s iconic depictions of clouds, hats, pipes, and apples are some of surrealism’s most recognizable images. Known for his realist style, the Belgian artist transformed ordinary objects into enchanting, mysterious visions. Magritte is a major retrospective showcasing over 100 works, many never before seen in Australia. The exhibition is currently ongoing until the 9th February 2025.

Organized by the Art Gallery of New South Wales in collaboration with the Magritte Foundation and the Menil Collection, this exhibition is part of the Sydney International Art Series, supported by Create NSW and Destination NSW.
